SUPERMODEL Naomi Campbell has been blasted by Loose Women viewers after she was fashionably late for an interview on the programme yesterday afternoon.

The 46-year-old star was caught up in traffic as she made her way to her appearance on the ITV lunchtime chat show.

“She was supposed to be here at one but the London traffic is holding her up,” host Ruth Langford was heard telling the audience.

Naomi was said to be appearing just before 1pm but ended up on the show later on in the final part of the programme.

When she did arrive on Loose Women, Naomi appeared to have lost her voice and spoke in husky tones.

Loose Women praised Naomi Campbell

She told panellists Coleen Nolan, Saira Khan, Jane Moore and Ruth Langsford that she had been drinking lots of hot water to deal with her voice.

“I’m losing my voice. I’ve been drinking lots of hot water. I think I’ve just been working too much,” she explained.

However, viewers less than impressed with Naomi and took to social media to also blast the panellists.

“Please, please #LooseWomen – no more of this sycophantic style of interview! Makes me want to puke,” wrote one person.

As a second wrote: “#LooseWomen Could you crawl any further up her a*** Saira? It’s nauseating.”

“They were tip toeing around her I see #LooseWomen,” tweeted a third as another added: “Before Naomi leaves can we make sure Saira’s head is extracted from lady muck’s a***? No better still, leave it there #LooseWomen.”

The British model was on Loose Women to talk about her new project which will see her host the Fashion For Relief charity event in Cannes later this month.

She will be helping to raise money for Save The Children, which will help young ones caught up in the refugee crisis.

Naomi said that she’d wanted to work with Save The Children for some time but had steered away in a bid to avoid getting involved in politics.

Naomi said she had lost her voice.

Speaking about staying away from the limelight in recent years and negative publicity, she said: “I don’t have any complaints. I can’t stop people making their own minds about me based on what they read. It just doesn’t trouble me.”

Loose Women star Saira, 46, praised Naomi for her incredible work and career, telling her: “For me, you are an inspiration to women of colour and you help a lot of women of colour.I think this project shows a different side to you.”

A representative for Naomi told Express.co.uk: “We’re talking about Naomi being a couple of minutes late due to traffic. And having just come back from the ITV studios myself it took over an hour to do the two miles to the West End because the area around Parliament Square was closed off.

“You can’t really blame Naomi for the roadworks and a ceremonial march down Birdcage Walk!”

Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm.
