Her powerful song WOMAN has inspired women from all walks of life across the world. The inspirational song can relate to every woman, encouraging them that in all the hardships they through in life, women are long-suffering, enduring and brave.
Juliana Kanyomozi sings
A warrior is a woman
A saviour is a woman
When a man cries a woman smiles
The bravery of a woman
But there is a heartbreaking story behind the powerful anthem, beautiful Ugandan songstress Juliana Kanyomozi recorded the song after her only son had died in 2014.
‘there are things that happen to you and you cannot find the perfect vocabulary to explain them. It’s that pain that leaves you helpless and no one else but God can help!’
The death of her son saw Juliana take a break from the social scene and music.
In February 2017 she told the Nairobian that the death of her only son was the darkest time of her life, ‘ I’ve always been extremely strong. But this was beyond it. There are things that happen to you and you cannot find the perfect vocabulary to explain them. It’s that pain that leaves you helpless and no one else but God can help!.’ source The Nairobian
The sudden death affected the Ugandan fashion icon’s relationship with God.
“I was very angry with God. He had just taken away the most important thing I had in life. Then again, there’s always a reason for everything single thing. He does,” she said adding that she was not really in touch with the world at that moment.
“I can’t explain what was happening. I was lucky I had family and close friends with me and luckily they’ve never let me go since then,” source The Nairobian.
“I have my bad days where I sit with a box of tissue and let the tears flow. I don’t know how long it will take me to move on. It is something that will always be a part of me. I’m only being a strong woman,” she says.
“I don’t want to depress my fans. I want them to be happy. And that’s exactly what Keron would have wanted me to do.”
“It is all part of the healing process. I’m taking baby steps. I’m not yet there emotionally. When you’ve gone through something like this, you have to find the strength first.”
‘I don’t want to depress my fans. I want them to be happy. And that’s exactly what Keron would have wanted me to do’
As part of her brave comeback, Juliana recorded the song WOMAN because her son Keron would have wanted her to continue singing.
